Sharon Van Etten Covers “Silent Night” and “Blue Christmas”: Listen


Sharon Van Etten has covered a pair of holiday classics: “Silent Night” and “Blue Christmas.” Listen to both tracks below.

Van Etten originally recorded “Silent Night” in 2018 for Eric Paschal Johnson ’s short film The Letter. Her version of “Blue Christmas” appeared on a benefit album titled Do You EAR what I Ear in 2009. Proceeds from the record went to the Association to Benefit Children. Both tracks are now available to stream digitally for the first time.

Sharon Van Etten released her last studio album Remind Me Tomorrow in 2019. Earlier this year, she covered Nine Inch Nails’ “Hurt,” shared a new single called “Let Go,” and joined Local Natives for their new track “Lemon.”
